On September 22, 2020, the offshore drilling contractor Aban Offshore Ltd. confirmed that it has received an Award for deployment of jack-up rig ABAN II in offshore India with ONGC for a firm period of three years. The contract will start from early Oct 2020 and run until early Oct 2023. The estimated dayrate of rig for contract is US$ 35 000.

On October 10, 2019, the Chennai-based offshore drilling contractor Aban Offshore Ltd stated that it has received a Letter of Award for deployment of jack-up rig ABAN II from ONGC for a firm period of three years. The company further added that deployment is expected to commence during the second quarter of the calendar year 2020.

Aban II is expected to commence operations for ONGC during the first quarter of 2016.
