Drilling performance: Island Innovator has been engaged in Harsh Environment drilling operations since 2013 and maintained an excellent performance record. Regularity in excess of 97% available rig for customer

Enhanced design with improved heave characteristics for reduced waiting on weather Good feedback from the crew onboard, with low sick leave. Has been upgrade to operate in – 6 Degrees C in the Barents Sea, operation from 1st of March – 1st of December. It has achieved good results in exploration, with 5 good drill steam tests, included Gotha, and Alta.

On March 16, 2020, Cairn Energy’s subsidiary Capricorn Norge has been given permission to drill a wildcat well in the North Sea offshore Norway. The Duncan exploration well (35/8-7S) will be drilled using the Island Innovator semi-submersible drilling rig. The well is located in the production license 880, some 8 kilometers west of the Vega field. This will be the first well drilled in the license. Capricorn Norge AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 60 percent. The other licensee is Edison Norge AS with an ownership interest of 40 percent.

The operator has previously secured permission from the Petroleum Safety Authority to drill the Duncan prospect. Water depth at the site is 371 meters. According to the PSA Norway’s consent granted in on February 24. The well start-up of the drilling operation is expected in March/April period. The drilling is expected to take between 42 and 60 days to complete.

On Dec 13, 2019, Island Drilling Company announced that the company has been awarded a Contract with Austrian operator

OMV (Norge) AS the 12th of December, to drill one well on License 644, close to Aasgaard Field in the North Sea. Island Drilling's Island Innovator awarded one-well plus three option-well contract with OMV Norway. In addition, a separate agreement has been signed with OMV, which applies to up to 3 option wells for OMV in other Norwegian sea areas. Drilling is scheduled to commence in Q2/ Q3 2020 and Island Drilling Management will be responsible for the operation of Island Innovator.

On April 29, 2019, (Sandsli), Island Drilling Company AS announced that the company has been awarded a contract with Faroe Petroleum Norge AS, to drill one well on PL888 Canela license, located west of Heidrun field. Block 6507/7. Drilling is scheduled to commence in Q3 2019. Island Drilling Management will be responsible for the operation of the rig Island Innovator. Island Drilling Company AS is grateful that the Island Innovator has been chosen for this scope. Faroe Petroleum Norge AS is the operator of Canela PL888, holding a 40% interest.

On March 22, 2019, (Sandsli), "Island Drilling Company AS announced that the company has been awarded a contract with CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, to drill one well on the Howick prospect, located West of Shetland, Block 206/21. Drilling is scheduled to commence in Q2 2019. Island Drilling Management will be responsible for the operation of the Island Innovator. Island Drilling Company AS is grateful that the Island Innovator has been chosen for this scope. CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited is the operator of Howick, holding a 100% interest.

The Island innovator is a 6th generation rig for drilling and heavy well intervention on subsea templates. The unique operational advantage of the compensated crane in combination with the rig’s DP capability makes a positive difference compared to many other units. Subsea operations such as template installation and preparation spud of new well / top-hole drilling and P&A operations can be done in combination with mooring activities.

The crane can operate in AHC mode down to more than 1000 meter water depth, and can therefore be very useful for subsea work on templates on sea bed, performing work such as:

• Opening hatches

• Installation of templates (Due to DP, the rig can perform wet tow of templates in rougher conditions than other subsea vessels)

• Heavy constructions can also be lifted at sea bed by use of the compensated top drive or crane

• PGBs and OTSs running (or pulling) or deployment campaign in batch riser less mode

Features and capabilities: Island Innovator is equipped with a NOV 4000 HP ram-rig type cylinder rig with hydraulic active heave compensation and separate pipe racking tower. It has NOV BOP handling system and a five ram BOP stack from Cameron. The rig is purpose built for production drilling on subsea templates with large designated area for storage and a skidding system to bring XTs in position for the moonpool elevator.

A NOV 165 t active heave compensated knuckle boom crane, Max radius 50 m, is fitted on starboard side. The knuckle boom crane is a subsea construction crane capable of lowering subsea structures down to 2000 m. It is especially well suited for handling XTs as its reach allow for landing XTs not only on the designated landing area, but directly in the moon pool. Hence, Heave compensated subsea lifting/construction work can be performed also trough the moonpool as well as conventional over the side lifting.

Rig specifications: The ISLAND INNOVATOR is a 6th generation, 2012 built semi-submersible drilling, well intervention & completion-unit designed to operate in water depths up to 1200 meter. The unit is designed for NCS, Norwegian Continental Self and for world wide harsh environments. Station keeping is maintained by an 8 line mooring system or by dynamic position mode maintained by 6 fixed pitch, variable speed thrusters (DP3).
